Swanage and Poole sits on the Dorset coast and offers diving across seven sites ranging from very shallow shore dives to intermediate boat dives. The English Channel here supports a mix of artificial reefs, natural reefs, drift dives, and wrecks, with Swanage Pier being the best-known entry point, a sheltered shore dive on an artificial reef structure where cuttlefish, seahorse, blennies, wrasse, and crab are regularly encountered. Peveril Ledge and Old Harry Rocks require boat access and suit more confident divers due to stronger currents. Ten dive operators are based locally, and the area is well set up for training as well as more advanced open-water diving.
