Eritrea's dive sites sit in the southern Red Sea, accessed by boat from the port of Massawa. The sites range from shallow seagrass beds and a dry dock wreck to the exposed offshore reef at Two Fathom Bank, covering depths from very shallow to around thirty-five metres, with conditions spanning beginner to advanced. Visibility is generally strong, and water temperatures are warm year-round, peaking in late summer and easing back through winter. The reefs see minimal tourism pressure and are noted for resilience to bleaching, making them a rare proposition in the Red Sea. Divers report whale sharks, silvertip sharks, bluespotted fantail rays, and common seahorses across the sites.
