Saint Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha is a British Overseas Territory spread across the South Atlantic Ocean, and its dive sites reflect the remote, volcanic character of each island group. Whale sharks visit seasonally, and the wider territory holds high levels of marine endemism, meaning species found nowhere else are a realistic part of any dive.

Water temperatures peak in the southern autumn months and sit at their coolest in the southern winter, when a full wetsuit is advisable. The warmest and clearest conditions, particularly around Saint Helena, fall between late summer and early autumn in the southern hemisphere, making that period the most comfortable for longer dives.
