Zimbabwe's sole entry in our database is the Chinhoyi Caves, a freshwater karst system near the town of Chinhoyi in Mashonaland West Province. The flooded main chamber, known as the Sleeping Pool or Chirorodziva, sits within a limestone and dolomite sinkhole accessed via the Wonder Hole, a large cavern with a collapsed roof. Visibility in the cobalt-blue water reaches forty to fifty metres, and the temperature holds steady year-round. Depths run from around forty-six metres down to a surveyed one hundred and thirty-five metres, placing this firmly in advanced and technical diving territory; cave and technical certifications are required. Access is managed by National Parks, and divers must be accompanied by a Zimbabwean-registered dive club or centre.
