Namibia's dive sites sit inland, not on the coast. Both sites in our database, Otjikoto Lake and Lake Guinas, are collapsed dolomite sinkholes in the bushveld near Tsumeb, accessed from shore at high altitude. Otjikoto functions as an underwater repository of German military equipment discarded during World War One, drawing divers who want to explore a site with remarkable historical depth alongside its dramatic depth profile. Lake Guinas is a flooded cave system requiring full cave certification and staged gas planning. Both lakes reach depths well beyond recreational limits, and both are suited to intermediate or technical divers only. Conditions are more stable than coastal Atlantic diving, with visibility reaching up to fifteen metres at Otjikoto.
