The Gothenburg Wreck area in Queensland's Townsville Outer Reefs is represented in our database by Stanley Reef, a boat-access site well offshore. The reef spans a broad depth range from very shallow to moderate depth, is well protected from wind, and experiences mild currents with visibility that can reach well above average for the region. Water is warm for most of the year and at its coolest mid-winter. Species recorded include whitetip reef sharks, Napoleon wrasse, pygmy seahorses, pharaoh and mourning cuttlefish, and snake eels.
