Davies Reef is an intermediate-level site in the Coral Sea, accessible by boat from Townsville. The underwater landscape combines walls, caves, and open reef structure across a depth range from ten to thirty metres, with visibility that can reach thirty metres on good days. Currents are generally mild but can strengthen near the wall sections. Divers here may encounter whale shark, whitetip and blacktip reef sharks, napoleon wrasse, dogtooth tuna, pygmy seahorse, and hairy frogfish, giving the site a broader pelagic and macro mix than many comparable reef sites.
