John Brewer Reef is an outer reef site in the Coral Sea, reached by boat. The site in our database is Coral Greenhouse, an artificial reef featuring large-scale underwater sculptures installed at depths from shallow to moderate. The lagoon setting provides sheltered conditions with mild currents, and visibility can be strong. Water is warm for most of the year and at its coolest in mid-winter. The reef is also home to the Museum of Underwater Art. Species recorded include Napoleon wrasse, whitetip reef sharks, harlequin tuskfish, batfish, and sixband parrotfish.
