Wonder Reef is a Gold Coast diving area in the Pacific Ocean combining artificial structures, natural reefs, and a wreck across nine sites in our database. Terrain ranges from very shallow shore-accessible walls and muck sites to boat-only artificial reefs in deeper water, with something available for beginners and advanced divers alike. Conditions vary considerably by site: some are calm and sheltered, others are exposed to strong tidal currents and must be timed for slack water. Water temperatures range from the low twenties in winter to the high twenties in summer. Species recorded include bottlenose dolphin, green sea turtle, common Sydney octopus, nudibranchs, and longfin grouper.

Water is warmest from late summer through autumn, peaking in the high twenties, and coolest in late winter at around twenty-one degrees. Several sites in this area are strongly current-affected and must be dived around slack high tide, so checking tidal conditions before diving is important regardless of the season.
