Yorkshire's sites in our database are entirely freshwater inland lakes, used primarily for training and skill development. The four sites sit near North Cave and Pontefract and are all shore-entry artificial reefs ranging from moderate to intermediate depths. Visibility is variable and can drop sharply when silt is disturbed. Cold water temperatures apply year-round, so thermal protection is essential. These lakes offer calm, current-free conditions that make them practical when North Sea coastal conditions are unsuitable.
