Noosa sits on the Sunshine Coast where the Pacific Ocean meets a stretch of reef accessible by both shore and boat. Water temperatures swing noticeably through the year, warming through summer and cooling to the low twenties in the middle months of winter. The two sites in our database, Peregian Beach and The Pin, are both rated for beginners and cover a depth range from the shallows to around eighteen metres. Visibility varies by site and conditions, from as low as six metres at the shore entry to around twenty metres on the offshore reef. Divers encounter spotted and ornate wobbegong, green sea turtle, common seahorse, robust ghost pipefish, blind shark, and a range of nudibranchs and cephalopods.
