Double Island Point is known to divers almost entirely for Wolf Rock, a volcanic pinnacle rising from thirty-eight metres that serves as a designated shark sanctuary. The site features rocky overhangs, gutters, and swim-throughs, and is rated for advanced divers only. Grey nurse sharks and zebra sharks are commonly encountered, and the species list also includes reef manta ray, leopard shark, eagle ray, marble ray, bowmouth guitarfish, humpback whale, and Queensland grouper. Visibility is highly variable, potentially anywhere from poor to exceptional, and currents can be strong. Access is by boat from Rainbow Beach.
