Moore Reef is an outer Great Barrier Reef site around forty kilometres from Cairns, accessible only by boat. The six sites in our database cover a wide range of terrain including walls, pinnacles, canyons, caves, and coral gardens, with depths from just one metre down to thirty metres. All sites are rated beginner-friendly, and some are equipped with pontoons. Recorded species include Napoleon wrasse, whale sharks, whitetip reef sharks, bluespotted fantail rays, and a variety of parrotfish, wrasses, and butterflyfish. Visibility across the sites ranges from moderate to excellent depending on season, with the most reliable clarity tending to come in the dry season.
