Tathra is a small south coast New South Wales town with two shore-entry sites: a rocky reef at Tathra Wharf and the sheltered artificial and natural reef at Kianinny Bay. Both are rated for beginners, though Kianinny Bay reaches an average depth of sixteen metres with variable visibility between three and seven metres. Hazards include fishing lines at the wharf and boat traffic near the ramp at Kianinny Bay. Species recorded include pot-bellied seahorses, eastern blue groper, eagle rays, green moray, and a good range of nudibranchs and wrasses.
