Eden lies on the far south coast of New South Wales, and the site in our database is Ben Boyd, an artificial reef formed by a vessel sitting upright on a sandy bottom at shallow depth. The dive is accessed by boat and is suitable for beginners, with visibility of around ten metres and moderate currents to account for. The wreck attracts a rich and varied species list including grey nurse sharks, leafy seadragons, pot-bellied seahorses, ornate and spotted wobbegongs, harlequin fish, fiddler rays, and long-nosed fur seals. Three dive operators are based in Eden. Water is warm in summer and cools noticeably through winter and spring.
