Tioman has the largest number of sites and offers a wide mix of reef, wall, drift and wreck diving, with both shore and boat entries available. The Perhentian Islands and Redang each carry a strong spread of beginner-friendly reef sites alongside a handful of more demanding spots. Tenggol Island adds a solid complement of sites in a less visited setting, while Aur and Dayang Islands, Mersing Islands and Kapas Island are smaller clusters that suit divers looking for a quieter experience.
The majority of sites require a boat to reach, which is reflected in the operator network across all the main sub-areas. Shore entry is available at a smaller number of sites, notably The Aquarium and Marine Park Jetty on Tioman and Laluan Naga and Pasir Panjang on Redang, making those islands the best base if you want the option of independent entry. Several sites, including Pulau Rawa and Mak Cantik, can be reached by either method.
