Water temperature stays consistently warm across all months, making thermal comfort a constant rather than a seasonal variable. Visibility, however, can shift considerably, and the best-months data points to April as a peak period, with a secondary window running from July through November. January and February see quieter conditions with slightly reduced suitability, which may reflect seasonal rain patterns across Sulawesi.

The Togian Islands have a strong record of observation-backed sightings across a wide range of species. Signature encounters include the Blue-ringed Octopus, Mandarinfish, Bluespotted Fantail Ray, and Giant Clam. Macro hunters can also find Pygmy Seahorse, Hairy Frogfish, Ornate Ghostpipefish, and Varicose Wart Slug, while Whale Shark has been recorded at sites here too.
A good portion of the dive sites are rated beginner level, including Pasir Tengah Atoll, J R Macro, Walea House Reef, and City Limit. These sites feature reef, wall, and drop-off topography accessible at shallower starting depths. That said, the area also has a strong offering for intermediate and advanced divers, particularly at Una Una - The Pinnacle and the Japanese Cargo Wreck.
Bomba is the largest sub-area by site count and covers a broad mix of reef, wall, and macro diving. Kadidiri is the base for the B24 Liberator aircraft wreck, a compact and atmospheric intermediate dive on a sandy bottom. Una Una stands apart with its deep pinnacle site, which descends to a considerable depth and suits experienced divers comfortable with deeper water and potential current.
