Ghoubbet, also known as Ghoubbet al-Kharab, is an enclosed bay connecting to the Gulf of Tadjoura and is sometimes called the Devil's Goblet. Our database holds two boat-access sites here: a beginner-friendly wall at shallow depth and a technical wall that drops well beyond forty-five metres. The bay is known as a nursery for juvenile whale sharks and supports bottlenose dolphins, silvertip sharks, bluespotted fantail rays, and green sea turtles among others. La faille follows a geological fault line between tectonic plates, giving the dive a distinct character. The best time to visit is November to February.
