Aabenraa Fjord offers a small set of shallow, shore-entry reef sites suited to beginner divers. The four sites span from a few metres to fifteen, with calm conditions at most locations and visibility typically around five to ten metres. Gasevig Strand introduces drift diving with stronger currents that require slack-water planning, while Hejsager Strandby provides a relaxed, current-free environment with good facilities. The fjord's waters warm noticeably in summer and drop to near freezing in winter. Species recorded include catshark, monkfish, conger eel, lumpfish, wrasses, and harbour seal.
