Eddy Reef is a boat-access reef and wall site on the outer Great Barrier Reef, with two sites in our database: Eddy Reef itself and Boogie Nights. Depths across both sites are relatively contained, ranging from ten to twenty metres, and both are listed as suitable for beginners. The reef is named for its variable currents, which can reach moderate strength near the wall and require attentive navigation around sharp coral formations. Species recorded include common coral trout, flagtail triggerfish, Pacific bullethead parrotfish, multiple butterflyfish species, and bluestreak cleaner wrasse.
