Evans Head sits on the Pacific Ocean where a river mouth shapes the diving environment. The one site in our database, The Bream Hole, is a shore-accessible reef and seagrass dive averaging around ten metres depth, suited to beginners. Tidal currents run through the river mouth and boat traffic is a real consideration, so timing your entry carefully matters. Water temperatures run warm in summer and cool to the low twenties in the depths of winter, with species including wobbegongs, grey nurse sharks, marble rays, green moray, and common seahorse recorded at the site.
