Patonga is a small settlement on the Central Coast of New South Wales, where Patonga Creek drains into the Broken Bay area. The single site in our database is a shallow estuarine muck and seagrass environment, with depths reaching no more than five metres. Shore entry is straightforward from a sandy beach, and the site suits beginners and snorkellers. Tidal flow creates currents, so diving around high tide is recommended for better visibility and more settled conditions. Species recorded include Port Jackson shark, green moray, dusky flathead, three-barred porcupinefish, and soldier crab.
