The Geneva section of Lake Geneva offers freshwater diving from both shore and boat, with sites spread along the lake's southern shore. Conditions are variable: the water is cold throughout the year and visibility shifts with weather and season, generally improving in the calmer summer months. The site mix is wide, from shallow beginner-friendly spots at Genève-Plage through to deeper wreck and artificial-reef dives such as La Cochère and the former molasse quarries of Le mystère de la Cathédrale. Divers can encounter pike, perch, burbot, pike perch, eels, signal crayfish, and freshwater sponges. Boat traffic on the lake requires attention, particularly at exposed sites.
