Lake Geneva is a large freshwater lake straddling the French-Swiss border, and the French shore offers a varied spread of dive sites ranging from shallow plateaus suitable for beginners to wrecks and walls reaching considerable depths. Visibility can reach up to twenty metres, though it varies by site and season. Below ten metres temperatures drop sharply toward cold year-round conditions, so thermal protection is essential at depth. Sites include the wreck at Tougues, the reef and wreck combination at Amphion and Meillerie, and the calm shallows of Lac de Montriond, which suits those building basic skills. Both shore and boat entry are available across the eight sites in our database.
