Komati Springs is a flooded former asbestos mine near Tjakastad in Mpumalanga, now filled with groundwater. The open water section measures roughly one hundred and ten metres by fifty metres, and an eight-level interconnecting cave system extends the diving considerably beyond the open pit. Underwater cliffs, abandoned mining machinery, and rails give the site an industrial character rarely found at freshwater venues. Training grids at shallow, mid, and deeper levels make it a practical choice for courses as well as recreational and technical diving.
