Tyre lies in southern Lebanon and is a UNESCO World Heritage site whose historical significance extends underwater, where the area is noted for ancient harbour structures and Phoenician remains. Our database currently holds two sites: Sawan's Bay, a deeper natural and artificial reef suited to advanced divers, and National Star, a wreck at intermediate depth accessible by boat. Both sites sit in the mid-to-deep range and involve moderate currents, so neither is suited to beginners. Recorded species include green sea turtle, common octopus, European spiny lobster, gorgonians, and slipper lobster. Peak diving conditions fall between late spring and early autumn.
