Osezaki and Nishi-Izu sit on the western shore of the Izu Peninsula, facing Suruga Bay. All six sites in our database are shore dives, covering a varied mix of reef, wall, drop-off, muck, kelp forest, and artificial reef. The area suits beginner and intermediate divers, with most sites featuring mild currents, though Ita can experience strong conditions. Visibility fluctuates between five and twenty-five metres depending on site and season, and water temperatures dip to the mid-teens in late winter before climbing into the mid-twenties by late summer. The macro life here is notable, with ghost pipefish, nudibranchs, and snake eels among the recorded species.
