Menjangan is defined by dramatic wall diving off the island's coastline, where shallow reef plateaus give way to steep drop-offs. Sites range from beginner-friendly reefs to advanced wrecks such as Anchor Wreck, which plunges to serious depth. Cave structures appear at Cave Point and Bat Cave, adding variety. The resident angelfish community is exceptional, with Bluegirdled Angelfish, Regal Angelfish and Emperor Angelfish all observed consistently across sites, alongside Whitetip Reef Shark and Giant Frogfish.

Water temperature stays warm and remarkably stable year-round, with only slight variation between the coolest and warmest months. Conditions tend to favour diving from April through November, when visibility is at its most reliable and currents at sites like Eel Garden and Pos Satu can be used to advantage for drift diving. The drier months in the middle of the year generally offer the clearest water across the wall sites.

Almost all dive sites in Menjangan are accessed by boat. Pos Satu is the only site offering both boat and shore entry. Operators including ION - C Scuba Diving and Borneo Cha Divecenter can arrange trips to sites around the island, which lies offshore and requires a short boat journey.
