Gyékényes is a freshwater lake site in southern Hungary built around a submerged wreck. The lake is suitable for beginners, with shore entry and a manageable current, though visibility is limited to three to five metres. The wreck sits within a depth range that extends considerably deeper than the average dive, so buoyancy control and awareness of the entanglement risks associated with a submerged structure are both worth practising before entry. Species encountered include wels catfish, pike, common carp, pike perch, and European eel.
