Ios is a Cycladic island in the Aegean Sea offering a compact mix of site types: shore reefs, a shipwreck, a cave, a drop-off, and a seagrass bed, covering depths from very shallow to nearly fifty metres. The Ios Shipwreck is a vessel that sank roughly half a century ago and suits intermediate divers, while Ios Petalotis Cave is an overhead environment reserved for advanced divers with strong gas management. Shore entries at Mylopotas and Gialos Beach keep beginner and snorkeller options accessible. Species recorded include common octopus, gorgonians, European spiny lobster, striped seabream, and marbled electric ray.
