Prague and its surroundings offer freshwater diving across rivers, flooded quarries, and artificial reef sites. The Vltava beneath Charles Bridge gives urban river diving with low visibility and moderate currents, while flooded limestone quarries such as Velká Amerika present sheer vertical walls and depths reachable by beginners and advanced divers alike. Freshwater species encountered across the sites include pike, catfish, European eel, common carp, sturgeon, burbot, and perch. All sites are shore-entry, and a good number of operators are based in and around the city, making the area accessible for training as well as recreational dives.
