Edithburgh Jetty sits in the southern Spencer Gulf in South Australia and is reached directly from shore. The site spans reef, seagrass, and muck habitats across a shallow range, making it suitable for beginners. Water temperatures drop to their coolest in late winter and reach their warmest in late summer, and tidal currents can run strongly, particularly at high tide. The jetty structure and surrounding substrate attract a notable range of species, including leafy seadragons, pot-bellied and shorthead seahorses, giant cuttlefish, southern dumpling squid, spotted wobbegong, and several nudibranchs.
