The Brook Islands sit in the Coral Sea off the Cardwell Coast and are reached by boat from the mainland. The fringing reefs here are shallow, staying within twelve metres, which makes them well suited to beginners and snorkellers. Visibility ranges from five to fifteen metres and currents are generally mild. The species list is varied for a site of this depth, including green sea turtle, whitetip reef shark, napoleon wrasse, pygmy seahorse, hairy frogfish, and pharaoh cuttlefish. Mission Beach Charters is the sole operator serving the area.
