Osprey Reef is a remote oceanic atoll in the Coral Sea, reachable only by liveaboard. Its sites are exclusively for advanced divers: vertical walls drop from the shallows into deep water, with The Abyss plunging to the ocean floor, and strong, variable currents require drift-diving experience. Visibility is consistently exceptional, running between thirty and sixty metres across the five sites. Grey reef sharks are abundant, and the species list also includes silvertip sharks, tiger sharks, hammerheads, whale sharks, giant trevally, dogtooth tuna, and Napoleon wrasse. The best overall season runs from July through November, with peak visibility typically from late autumn into early spring.
