Lake Chelan in Washington State offers a range of freshwater dive sites to suit different experience levels, from shallow beginner dives to an advanced car wreck descending to sixty-one metres. Sites include an artificial reef car wreck, a wall and wreck monument site, and a shallower general dive area. Visibility is a notable draw, reaching between fifteen and seventy metres at the monument site and fifteen to twenty-five metres elsewhere. The lake holds an interesting species mix including sturgeon, burbot, trout, perch, and freshwater shrimp. Water stays cold at depth year-round, and a thermocline is present, making thermal protection important for deeper dives.
