Clark Canyon Reservoir is a freshwater reservoir in Montana with five sites spread around its shoreline and islands. The diving and snorkelling here is low-key: sites include a rocky northeast shoreline near the dam, a sandy western entry at Horse Prairie, and the submerged perimeter of Armstead Island, accessible by boat or paddleboard. Water temperatures are very cold in early spring, warming somewhat through summer. Visibility is consistently limited by fine sediment, particularly in the southern end where the Red Rock River enters. This is a destination for beginners, training dives, and those wanting quiet freshwater exploration rather than marquee features.
