Davis Reef lies in the Atlantic Ocean off Islamorada in the Florida Keys, reached by boat from nearby towns including Tavernier and Key Largo. The area groups together a varied collection of sites: the Davis Reef structure itself, the deep wreck of the Duane, wall diving at Conch Reef, and the shallow novelty of Captain Grumphy. Depths across the seven sites run from barely a metre to forty metres, accommodating beginners through advanced divers. Visibility typically ranges from ten to thirty metres, and water temperatures stay warm throughout the year, rarely dropping below twenty-three degrees Celsius even in winter.
