The Afton Wreck lies roughly a kilometre off the south-east coast of the Isle of Man in the Irish Sea, resting at a consistent depth of around twenty-five metres. The wreck dates from the late nineteenth century and is considerably broken up, but it is heavily colonised by plumose anemones and dead men's fingers, and the fish are notably unbothered by divers. The site is accessible only by boat and can only be dived during the slack-water window, so timing with the tides is essential. It is rated for intermediate divers, and visibility here can reach up to thirty metres.
