Best for intermediate divers, shore entry.
Freshwater Bay, specifically around Stag Rock, offers a unique snorkelling experience defined by its prominent chalk sea stacks. The site features a white chalk seabed that reflects light, illuminating the surrounding kelp-covered ridges. Entry is via the shore, and the site is best suited for intermediate snorkellers. Water temperatures fluctuate throughout the year, ranging from 9C in the late winter months to 18C during the peak of summer. Due to the nature of the chalk reef topography and the presence of sea stacks, snorkellers should be mindful of local tidal conditions and currents when planning their visit.
