Southern Crimea's two dive sites, Ayu-dag and Adalar Rocks, lie in the Black Sea off Gurzuf and are reached by boat only. Both are reef and cave sites without wrecks, sitting in a moderate depth band. Visibility tends to be good, particularly at Adalar Rocks. Water is cool throughout the year, remaining well below typical warm-water standards even at the height of summer, and a seven-millimetre wetsuit or drysuit is recommended at both sites. Thermoclines are present. Species include wrasses, scorpionfish, gurnard, stargazer, gorgonians, loggerhead sea turtle, and brittle stars.
