Djerba is an island in southern Tunisia offering a relaxed Mediterranean diving experience across shallow reefs and wreck sites. Depths across the sites in our database run from very shallow shore entries up to thirty metres, and conditions are generally mild with gentle currents, making the area well suited to beginners and intermediate divers. Wreck sites including the SS Edda and Wreck Eso give more experienced divers something to work towards, while shallow reef sites such as Sidi Soliman's Reef and Archimède are practical for those building confidence. Djerba's water temperatures are among the warmest of Tunisia's dive regions, reaching the high twenties in August and September. Winter months drop to around fourteen to sixteen degrees Celsius, so a thicker wetsuit is advisable from November through March. The research suggests the best diving window runs from May to October, when conditions are most settled and water is comfortably warm.
