Tangalle is a small diving area on Sri Lanka's south coast with two boat-access sites suited to beginners. Tangalle Reef is a natural and artificial reef system with large coral bommies and rocky outcrops, while the Commander PH Museum is a purpose-sunk artificial reef and sculpture installation. Both sites sit within a shallow depth range, making them approachable for newly certified divers. Water temperatures are warm and consistent across the year. The south coast season generally runs from October to May, aligning with calmer Indian Ocean conditions.
