Piran sits on Slovenia's short Adriatic coastline and offers the country's most varied saltwater diving. Nine sites cover reef, wall, wreck, drift, and artificial reef types, with depths ranging from very shallow to nearly forty metres. Wrecks include a hydroplane and the Kec, a World War Two vessel lying offshore and reserved for advanced, wreck-qualified divers. Shallower sites around the headland and Fiesa beach suit beginners, while the full species list includes eagle rays, nudibranchs, octopus, conger eels, and common lobster. Multiple dive operators are based in Piran and nearby Portorož.
