Aldabra Atoll is a UNESCO World Heritage site in the remote outer Seychelles, accessible only by liveaboard and requiring special permits to visit. The two sites in our database are both drift dives accessed by boat: a shallow reef pass at Passe Dubois and the deeper, current-driven Aldabra Main Channel. Tidal currents are the defining force at the Main Channel, and timing dives to the tide is essential. Species recorded include whale sharks, blacktip reef sharks, dogtooth tuna, bluefin trevally, Napoleon wrasse, and green sea turtles. Water is coolest from July to September and warmest in the summer months.
