Constanta is the primary hub for Black Sea diving in Romania, with several dive centres operating in the area and sites ranging from shallow beginner wrecks to advanced offshore dives beyond forty metres. The Black Sea here is moody: visibility averages five to ten metres and can drop sharply after wind events, while a strong thermocline below ten to fifteen metres sends temperatures plummeting even in summer. Wrecks dominate the site list and include the Moskva Destroyer, the Paris Wreck, and the shallow You Xiu, alongside the archaeological shore site at Cazino Constanta with its anchors and amphora shards. Loggerhead sea turtles, scorpionfish, gorgonians, and peacock blennies are among the recorded species.
