Vieques is an island off Puerto Rico's east coast, and our database currently holds one site: El Imperio, a shore-entry reef with a steep slope descending well beyond recreational depth limits. Divers need to monitor depth carefully, as the reef drops sharply from around twenty-six metres. Moderate currents are typical, and visibility ranges from moderate to good. Species recorded include nurse sharks, whale sharks, green sea turtles, Ridley turtles, Atlantic goliath grouper, flying gurnard, gorgonians, and common octopus.
