Kraków's dive sites are flooded quarries and former gravel pits on the edges of the city, all accessible from the shore and dived entirely in fresh water. Zakrzówek, a flooded limestone quarry with two connected reservoirs, is the most varied of the three sites, offering submerged rock faces, a submerged bus and car, and depths reaching just over thirty metres. Jezioro Bagry, a former gravel pit, is shallower and well suited to beginner training, while Nautica provides an artificial reef environment with reliable sight lines. Visibility across the area fluctuates with season, improving in winter and at depth. Freshwater species including pike, catfish, perch, burbot, and European eel are regularly encountered.
