Sogod Bay draws divers with an exceptional density of cryptic and macro life across reef, wall, drop-off, cave, and wreck sites. The bay divides across three sub-areas: Padre Burgos holds the largest concentration of sites, Limasawa Island offers steep drop-offs and drift dives, and Napantao is home to a wreck and fish sanctuary walls. Signature encounters include the Giant Frogfish, Ornate Ghostpipefish, Warty Anglerfish, and seasonal Whale Shark sightings. Conditions peak from late spring through early summer and again in November through March.

A good portion of the sites in Sogod Bay are rated for beginners, including Paradise Garden, Mandarin City, Dap Dap, Coco South, and Neptune's House. These sites typically feature shallow reef tops that graduate into walls, giving newer divers room to explore without committing to depth. More advanced sites such as Panorama Reef and the deeper sections of Napantaw Fish Sanctuary are better reserved for experienced divers.
Padre Burgos has the greatest number of sites and offers the widest variety for divers of all levels. Limasawa Island is characterised by steeper terrain, including the deep drop-offs at Heaven's Gate and the multi-feature Sunok site with its artificial reef and drift potential. Napantao is more compact but features both a wreck at Peter's Wreck and the deeper reef and wall diving of Napantaw Fish Sanctuary.
The majority of dive sites in Sogod Bay require boat access, which is the norm across all three sub-areas. A notable exception is Peter's Wreck in Napantao, which can be reached from shore. Neptune's House also lists both shore and boat entry as options. Operators including Southern Leyte Divers, Anda Scuba Diving, and Pintuyan Dive Resort can arrange boat trips to the wider site network.
