Hondoq is a small bay on Gozo's eastern tip near Qala, offering shore-entry diving across three sites that suit beginner divers. Hondoq Bay and Hondoq ir-Rummien share shallow, sheltered terrain with reef, seagrass, cave, and artificial reef features, all within depths that rarely push beginners too far. The Blue Hole at Hondoq is a natural limestone cylinder connected to open water through an archway, where visibility is typically high and the wall drops to the mid-forties of metres. Although listed as accessible to beginners, the archway and deeper wall sections at the Blue Hole call for care. Species recorded here include Mediterranean moray, common octopus, goldblotch grouper, Mediterranean slipper lobster, and European parrotfish.

Temperatures sit in the mid-teens through winter and spring then rise steadily to the mid-to-upper twenties by late summer. The warmest diving runs from June through October, and the sheltered nature of the bay means conditions are generally manageable year-round for the shallower sites.
