Baros sits in North Malé Atoll and holds three sites, Baros Faru, Baros House Reef, and Baros Thila, all rated for beginner divers. The house reef encircles the island, is accessible from shore, and includes two small wrecks and a shallow lagoon that functions as a nursery for juvenile sharks. Baros Faru is a boat-accessed reef five hundred metres from shore, open for both day and night dives. Baros Thila is a pinnacle whose top sits at roughly eight metres, dropping to thirty metres, with moderate currents that can strengthen. Recorded species include blacktip reef sharks, Napoleon wrasse, giant moray, bluefin trevally, and day octopus. Conditions are clearest during the dry season from December through April.
